Project: Big Girls' Room

In preparing for the new baby, we've been debating on our rooming situation with 3 children in the house. Our girls currently share a room in our house and our 3rd bedroom is used as a guest bedroom and office. I am a strong believer in siblings of the same gender sharing a room. I just feel like learning how to deal with a roommate is an important life skill, and I'd like for my girls to share a room as long as possible. 

We have decided that when the baby arrives, he/she will be in one bedroom with the crib and the day bed. Then when we have company, the baby can sleep in the pack and play in our room and our guests can have a room to themselves. The big girls will be moving into the other bedroom, and our plan is for them to share a double bed. I know. I know... It's probably going to be a really tough adjustment period during bedtime, but I think this will be best for us right now. I have long term plans to get the girls twin beds that double as bunk beds, but they're a little to young for those. 

I'm really excited about decorating the big girls' room! My mom and I are going to work on the project together and plan to make their bedding and window treatments. I hope it turns out well! Either way, I'm pumped about some Mother/Daughter sewing time!! Here's a picture of the bedding we're going to try to recreate.
