"Summer's lease hath all too short a date."
-William Shakespeare
It's summertime...
A precious break from school and activities.
Longer days.
Dirtier kids.
Summer is the stuff that childhood memories are made of.
I have had to constantly remind myself that these are the days that they'll remember forever. The slow days of playing in our backyard, using their imaginations, and staying up too late.
Lord, please help me to savor these days.
Like a good Millennial Mama, I had the kids help me make a Bucket List of fun stuff to do during the summer. Unlike previous years, we made sure that this year's list was attainable. Lots of free stuff we can do at home or close by with stuff we already have. We included a few outings and adventures, but in this busy season of homeschooling, little kids, and birth work, I felt the need to keep things simple.
*Not included on the list: attempting to finally potty train our last baby*
“Ah, summer – that long anticipated stretch of lazy, lingering days, free of responsibility and rife with possibility. It’s a time to hunt for insects, master handstands, practice swimming strokes, conquer trees, explore nooks and crannies, and make new friends.” – Darrell Hammond
