Us Lately

So many updates... where to begin?

August was completely nuts for us, so forgive me for not blogging. My first cousin-in-law and my little sister both got married last month... both after being engaged 2 months or less! Life was a little hectic, but lots of fun.

I'll start with Stella. As of this week, she weighs 10 lbs. and 1 oz. and is still nursing like a champ! She'll be 7 weeks old tomorrow... hard to believe. In the past week, she had 3 major milestones- she slept through the night for the first time, stayed with her Nana (Jason's mom) while we went on a dinner date, and got her first sinus infection. Her hair is still as wild as ever, but I think she's absolutely adorable! The adjustment from 2 to 3 kids has been the easiest yet. She fits perfectly in our family, just as if she'd always been here. Things haven't been perfect... we've discovered that Stella is sensitive to yeast, which means I've had to nearly eliminate the sugar, wheat and dairy from my diet. If you know me at all, you know immediately know how hard that's been! She's worth it, though!!

Kylie started ballet in August, and let me just tell you... she LOVES it! She is such a little diva, so prancing in a tutu is right up her alley! She turned 3 on August 26, so we celebrated with her friends at Chuck E Cheese's. Her little personality is precious. Just this week, she had a full 2-way conversation with God where she asked God questions and then answered for Him! She makes my heart happy. :)

August was also Layla's first (and last) month of preschool at FBC Sumrall. As much as we all loved it there, I feel certain that I'm supposed to be homeschooling our kids. Today was our first official day of K3 and K4 at home, and I think it was a huge success! We finished with our teaching time and then went to play and picnic in the park. Layla also started Upward Soccer... she's definitely a little athlete!  Her first game is this weekend and we can't wait!!

Looking forward to September! :)
